Investigating the Harbour Basin Tranquillity in the Genaveh Port Development Plan

Abstract The Genaveh commercial port was placed on the agenda of Iranian PMO (ports and maritime organization) to consider economic, residential development in Bushehr province specifically city. In order increase water capacity port, it is necessary build a new harbour basin for exploitation purposes at depth 5 6 meters by extending existing jetties arms front port. This research aims investigate basin’s tranquillity providing vessels with safe berthing. For this purpose, three modules, namely flow model (FM), spectral wave (SW) Boussinesq waves (BW) from MIKE 21 software package, were utilized. According monitoring data, which provided PMO, based prevailing directions investigated. Based diffraction graph basin, results showed that, according percentage permissible recommended different valid regulations, there need modify geometry breakwater plan.
